Claire Fontaine

The name is derived from the famous brand of French notebooks (Clairefontaine). This nom-de-plume is in reality a two-artist collaboration. Following in the footsteps of R. Mutt (Marcel Du Champ), Claire Fontaine specializes in the “readymade. With inspirations drawing from from 1970s Italian feminism, a book in the works, and an upcoming show at the New Museum downtown, Claire Fontaine is an exciting artist/art creation for 2008.
